Dr. Kathleen Starr, Health Psychologist
Dr. Kathleen Starr brings a unique combination of experiences in behavioral science and marketing research to the iNSiGHT Cooperative. Kathleen holds a doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Miami where she received a NIH fellowship for the ‘Biopsychosocial Research Training in Immunology and HIV’. She completed a post-doctorate fellowship at Duke University Medical Center with a focus in pain management.
Kathleen’s expertise in health and behavior extends beyond theoretical understanding to include experience working directly with patients and caregivers in the areas of disease management, treatment adherence, and health promotion. She has deep understanding of the biological, psychological, and behavioral mechanisms associated with many therapeutic areas including oncology, diabetes, HIV, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, neurological conditions and chronic pain.
Kathleen has a strong academic and industry background in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Taking it one step further, Kathleen offers a behavioral science perspective on relevant research, providing clients with the most actionable insight for strategic planning. Leveraging expertise in human perception, decision making, and behavior change, she provides clients with innovative strategies to engage market targets, create compelling messages, and drive sustainable behavior change. As a veteran pharmaceutical marketing researcher, she has provided strategic direction for a diverse array of marketing initiatives including new product launches, product line extensions, brand positioning/re-positioning, relationship management programs, professional promotions, and direct-to-consumer advertising.
Kathleen is an educator, marketing strategist, and founder of Starr Health Strategy Group, LLC. Integrating behavioral science insight into health and medical marketing strategy, her company helps organizations promote better health outcomes while building trusted brand relationships with their customers.
